Glass Mineral Wool - Knauf Insulation Loft Roll

Knauf Insulation Loft Roll 44 is a Glass Mineral Wool roll, designed for use in cold lofts where pitched roofs are insulated at ceiling level, that offers good thermal performance in the range.

It is non-combustible with the best possible Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification and is manufactured using Knauf Insulation's unique bio-based binder, ECOSE® Technology.

Loft Rolls are odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, do not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.

Application

Loft Rolls are used for the thermal insulation of cold pitched roofs at ceiling level. They are usually laid in two layers, with the first layer between the joists and the second layer over, and at right angles to the joists.

Real performance

Glass and Rock Mineral Wool are easier to install correctly than other insulants such as rigid boards because they adapt to any slight imperfections in the substrate and knit together, eliminating any air gaps. Evidence shows the absence of air gaps is crucial to achieving real performance in the relevant application.

Handling and storage

Loft Rolls are easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size, where necessary. For longer term protection on site, the product should either be stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground. Loft Rolls should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
